Karla Truxall
Born and raised in Michigan, Karla is a proud Penn State alum who found her calling when she took her pain and grief from suicide loss and combined it with her love of fandom and creativity to start SPN Survivors in 2014. Karla’s favorite ways to care for her mental and emotional health are spending time in nature, gardening, attending comic cons, playing sports, hanging out with loved ones, and finding unique and creative ways to help others.
David Truxall
A long time resident of metro Detroit and a Penn State alum, Dr. Truxall is a technologist who built web and mobile apps for some of the largest companies in North America. He is an author and speaker in his field, but outside work he can be found making music and cooking fabulous meals for his family. Currently he works at Graphite Health, a non-profit organization digitally transforming health care data.
Alexander Borrello
Alexander is a Michigan‑raised therapist, life coach, and speaker who specializes in supporting individuals facing depression and grief after traumatic losses. He has been dedicating time to advancing mental health messaging with non-profits since his start in counseling and was excited to join SPN Survivors in 2025. After a day of tending to the mental health of others, Alexander cares for his own though listening to music, reading plays, gaming, and experimenting in the kitchen. He currently works with Evolving Lives and his own practice Wayfinder Psychotherapy.
